Maristella Patuzzi

Born in Lugano as the daughter of a pianist and music teacher, she began studying violin and pianoforte at the age of four. At the age of seventeen, as a private student, she passed the violin diploma with the highest grades, award and special mention at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the leadership of Roberto Valtancoli and achieved the Swiss Matura at the grammar school in Lugano. In March 2005, she was admitted as a graduate with a scholarship for special merits in the class of Miriam Fried at Indiana University Bloomington, where she is currently studying. From 1995 to 1999 she studied with Susanne Holm and from 1999 to 2003 with Massimo Quarta at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano with the participation of the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation, Zurich. Since the age of five, she has often performed in public, accompanied by her father at the piano. At the age of ten, she gave her first concert with orchestra in the Cathedral of Lugano and then her first recital in Minusio (Locarno). Subsequently, she was awarded the Elisarion Prize in 1997. She played in Pura at the fair in memory of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. In 2001, she received a scholarship from the RPH-Promoter Foundation.

Since 2002, she has played as a soloist with the Orchestra Mozart of Milan, with Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, with the Orchestra San Marco of Pordenone and with the Orchestra of Italian Switzerland. Maristella acquires her Master's degree in Music from the University of Indiana, USA in 2008. In July 2008, she gives a successful concert at the WMP Concert Hall, New York, with compositions by Prokofiev, Ysaÿe and Paganini. She plays a Stradivarius violin from 1697. 2009 Maristella is the winner of a scholarship from the Friedl Wald Foundation in Basel. She participates in the Val Tidone Summer Camp (Reggio Emilia) and perfects herself with the violinist Sergei Krylov. In 2010, she gives a concert in the church of Sorengo/Tessin in August.

 

In 2011, Maristella received the Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance in Violin with Carlo Chiarappa at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana. In 2011/12 she received a prize for chamber music from the Foundation for Young Music Talents, Meggen/CH.

In 2013, Maristella gives various concerts in her native Ticino as well as abroad, including in Bergamo and Ulan Bator.

In 2014, Maristella performs, among others, in Cremona in the Auditorium Arvedi, in Merate (Milano), Scuola San Francesco, in Lugano, Aula Magna del Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, in the Chiesa di Sant'Antonio and with her father, Mario Patuzzi, with great success in St. Petersburg. On RSI, Rete 1, Maristella gives an interview with Mirella De Paris in the program Sinceramente. In the renowned Acropolis of Carthage, Maristella, with the special participation of the famous harpist, Floraleda Sacchi, gives works by Piazzolla, Paganini, Paisiello e Morricone as part of the 20th Edition of the International Festival Music - October Carthage, presented by the Italian Cultural Institute - Cultural Department of the Embassy of Italy, a unique concert.
