The dance department,

offers professional
training (Waganowa/Tarrassow
system) for professional
dancers in courses
of six semesters;
studies are structured
into lower, basic,
main and higher
grades. The diploma
in stage dancing
has been recognised
by the Canton
of Zurich since
February 2003.
A post-graduate
course in education
is available
for qualified
dancers to train
to be teachers
in artistic dancing
in addition to
their profession.

Founded in 1975 by Dimitri the theatre school is a department of the University of Applied Sciences of South Switzerland Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI). The vocational school of physical theatre offers a unique basic training for the movement theatre in all major subjects in Europe. The focus of the study, a three-year full-time program, is the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and offers the possibility of a 1 1/2 years graduate studies for the Master of Arts in Theatre. The Department of Research and Development deals with issues of the movement theatre relevant to each other.
